Quick Info

The Skeleton Twins is a refreshing portrayal of a familial bond between two long-separated siblings. Wiig and Hader shine in their performances, as they authenticly embody the quirky bond of estranged twins who reunite after ten years. The film is centered around themes of suicide, depression, and the unbreakable familial ties, all tinged with humor.

The highlight of the movie was undoubtedly the lip-syncing scene to Starship’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” It paints a vivid picture of their shared past, a nostalgic nod to their childhood and is an example of the movie's ability to fuse humor with deeper emotional themes. Sure, the storyline might be a tad predictable, but the characters' depth and performances are what carry it.

While it might appear to be a comedy at first glance, the film delves deeper into emotional and dramatic areas, so it might not be for those seeking to watch a light-hearted romp. I'd recommend this for viewers looking to watch a sibling dynamic that's handled with subtlety and sincerity.
